retreats
A Retreat is longer than a Visit: a full day, or even longer. A Retreat can also be arranged for a Group.
A Retreat means getting away from ordinary life more seriously and thoroughly than a short Visit can do. It gives greater gifts but it takes more arranging for you - and for us.

Most of the information about Retreats is the same as for Visits. But we need to book ahead more because we need to clear more time for you, or we are welcoming more people, or both. So we need to be a bit less informal than for a short Visit.
Book ahead: a Retreat of 12 hours, or a group, needs at least two weeks notice. Preferably more. The further ahead you arrange it the more likely we are to be free on the exact date you want to come.
We'll email and/or phone chat with you, then send you a little questionnaire. This helps ensure we don't misunderstand each other about the things you want, and what we can/ can't do.
Here's the way we charge workfee and our expenses for Retreats. Basically we try to make sure we don't lose money on you being here; that's all the expenses items are about.
FULL DAY RETREAT up to12 hours
- for one or two people = 2 hours workfee per person but otherwise FREE.
- for three or more people = 2 hours workfee + £7 expenses, all per person.
Includes sharing a home cooked main meal with us so part of your workfee could be simply helping to get dinner.
DAY - NIGHT RETREAT up to 24 hours
= 2 hours workfee + £12 expenses per person. Includes all meals, tea/ coffee.
WEEKEND or 2-3 days
= 3 hours Workfee + £12 expenses per 24hrs per person. Includes all meals, tea/ coffee.
Personal Session At least a full hour. £10 for one or two persons. Groups £20 for 3 or more people.
Sauna £7 per person (electricity + lots of towels laundry, cleaning). We'll check you for health safety, and teach you how.

Workfee and costs above are per person. Children free by arrangement - encouraged to help with workfee.
You can ask for extra workfee instead if the expenses payment is beyond your budget.

If you stay overnight with us you do so as our personal Guests as a friendly arrangement. We are not a hotel or a boarding house. We only have overnight Guests based on personal acquaintance. In other words you can't just book us like a hotel as complete strangers. You need to start getting to know us on short Visits, by telephone, email etc
We have a couple of guest rooms, but at the moment (year 2011) groups use the big comfy couches in the Lounge - until we get enough workfee help to do up another room.
Alcohol. We do not support blotted out boozing but we do understand and enjoy drinking in good fellowship. So the way we ensure we get what is fun without the problems is this.
You can bring alcohol with you. But it's only to be consumed at the lunch table, or after 6pm.
In the case of any ritual there is no alcohol used before or during, until the Cup has passed round once at the end of a Circle.
We reserve the right to ask any Guest to leave the House immediately if we feel their actions are spoiling things for others, or may cause a risk to us, or the House, or other Guests. We would normally warn someone first in a friendly way that we do not want a certain action to continue. Occasionally this is not possible. The judgement of an Elder of the House is final at that time, though the Guest concerned may request a discussion about it later after the Retreat is over.
